I offer a person-centred and solution-focused approach, which means I’ll work alongside you to explore what’s happening in your life right now, and to gently identify the patterns and triggers that may be contributing to feelings of anxiety or low mood. Together, we’ll look at where these feelings may be coming from and find strategies that can support you to make the changes you need in order to move forward.
When working with low mood, we may explore areas of life that might not feel aligned with who you are, or where you may be holding yourself back. This can help you gain clarity about what’s no longer working for you, and open up possibilities for living more authentically and with greater self-compassion.
I also work with clients who are struggling with stress, overwhelm and the early signs of burnout. This can sometimes show up as exhaustion, loss of motivation, irritability or feeling unable to cope with everyday demands. In our sessions, we can look at what’s contributing to the pressure you’re experiencing, explore healthier ways of responding, and identify practical steps that can help restore balance and prevent things from reaching breaking point.
You might also find my article on managing anxiety helpful as part of a multi-pronged approach to dealing with symptoms of anxiety:
I support people who are finding it difficult to cope with loss or major life changes. Loss isn’t always about bereavement — it can also come from changes in life circumstances that feel overwhelming or hard to accept. These experiences can leave us feeling lonely, fearful, or uncertain about the future.
At times, change can also stir up a deeper sense of identity loss, leading us to wonder: “Who am I now?”
Whatever the source of your struggle, I will walk alongside you as you navigate this transition. Together, we can explore what this change means for you and find ways to adapt, rebuild, and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.
Relationships can bring us joy and connection, but they can also be deeply challenging. If you’re finding it hard to navigate the complexities of your relationship, it may feel like the right time to seek some extra support. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can talk things through, gain clarity, and reflect on how you feel — and what you might want instead.
You may be facing a painful breakup, separation, or divorce, and adjusting to the reality of a new life. These experiences can feel overwhelming, leaving you unsure about the future and disconnected from yourself.
My aim is to walk alongside you as you explore your feelings, make sense of what has happened, and begin to imagine what comes next. Together, we can work towards helping you reconnect with yourself and move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion.
Struggling with confidence or low self-esteem can feel exhausting. You may find yourself second-guessing your decisions, comparing yourself to others, or feeling as though you’re not “good enough” no matter how hard you try. These feelings can affect many areas of life — from relationships and friendships to work, social situations and even the way you speak to yourself day-to-day.
In our sessions together, we can gently explore where these ideas about yourself may have come from, and how they might still be shaping the way you relate to others and to yourself. Sometimes these patterns stem from early experiences or repeated messages you’ve absorbed over time, and they can become so ingrained that they feel like unshakable truths.
Counselling offers a safe and supportive space to challenge these harsh self-judgments and to begin building a kinder, more compassionate view of yourself. Alongside exploring the roots of low self-esteem, we can also look at practical strategies to support you in everyday life — helping you to set healthier boundaries, feel more confident in your decisions, and strengthen your sense of self-worth.
Over time, this process can help you move towards living in a way that feels more authentic, less weighed down by self-doubt, and more connected to the person you want to be.
In addition to my general practice, I have undertaken specialist bereavement training at Farleigh Hospice in Essex where I worked as a volunteer counsellor supporting adults on their healing journey. My aim is to gently help you through the process of grieving, to provide a supportive space to reflect and be listened to and to help you come to terms with the reality of the loss of your loved one. In addition to supporting adults with bereavement I also have experience of supporting children and young people who have lost someone close to them and can offer a creative approach to helping them deal with the difficult emotions associated with the pain of grief.
I am a fully registered member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I hold full professional indemnity insurance, an enhanced DBS certificate, and work in line with a strict code of ethics. My practice is actively anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ affirmative. I also take part in regular CPD to keep my skills and knowledge current.
I offer a confidential, caring, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is causing you distress. Together, we will work at your pace in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. My aim is to help you feel safe, understood, and supported as you share your thoughts and experiences. I bring kindness and compassion to our work, with a focus on helping you gain greater self-awareness, discover your own solutions, and move towards positive change.
Alongside supporting clients with a wide range of concerns, I have specific experience working with adults with ADHD. I understand the challenges as well as the unique strengths that ADHD can bring. I would describe myself as an ADHD-informed practitioner and an ally.
